Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed

Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed is an IRS, Pakistan officer, and is currently posted as Commissioner, Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office, Islamabad. He holds a Masters in English (Language & Literature) from the University of the Punjab, MS in (Economic) Policy Analysis from Saitama University, Japan, and M.Phil and PhD from the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. His Doctoral dissertation explores into the elite capture and its interplay with the extractive function within from the prism of state autonomy. Dr. Ahmed, to his credit, has the World Bank Fellowship (1998-00), Fulbright Fellowship (2003-04), Charles Wallace Fellowship (2009-10), and Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship (2010-11). His research interests include extractive system, state autonomy, state building, state capacity, peace-building and governance.
