Concept Note:
A deadly earthquake in Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa killed more than 73,000 people, on October 8, 2005. After the initial rescue and relief efforts, Pakistan, in collaboration with the international community launched a structured programme of rehabilitation, through which billions of dollars have been funnelled into different sectors, which include housing and livelihood schemes. The slogan was ‘Build, Back Better.’
To revisit and find out lessons learned, SDPI has arranged a seminar for analysing situation on the ground, by asking the stakeholders to speak.
