SDPI is a policy research institute and the oldest civil society think tank in Pakistan, which produces knowledge on sustainable development and engages with governments, civil society and private sector on policy issues.
Fahmida Riaz was a noted progressive Urdu writer, poet, human rights activist and feminist of Pakistan. She passed away in November last year. She authored more than 15 books on fiction and poetry. She also translated the works of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai and Shaikh Ayaz from Sindhi to Urdu.
Khalida Hussain was a renowned fiction writer and novelist who passed away early in this month. She was known as one of the best fiction writers, short stories writer and novelists in Urdu Literature. Kaghazi Ghat was her last masterpiece in Urdu literature.
In order to pay tribute to their contributions, Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) is holding a reference in memory of Fahmida Riaz and Khalida Hussain.
