The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) has
planned a press briefing to introduce its Youth Ambassador, Ali
Shahbaz, who will be part of Pakistani’s official delegation to
the forthcoming United Nations conference on Sustainable Development,
also called Rio+20, to be hosted by Brazil in Rio on 20-22 June
2012.
During the recent ‘National Conference on Green Economy’ held in Islamabad
jointly organized by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), One UN
Joint Programme on Environment, Ministry of Climate Change, Heinrich Boll
Stiftung (HBS), ActionAid Pakistan and Lead Pakistan, Fifteen year old Ali
Shahbaz, Convener Youth, Lahore Conservation Society, made an
impressive contribution to the conference deliberations on relevance
of youth empowerment with sustainable development in the context
of representing the youth representative in one of the largest
conferences of United Nations on sustainable development. He was nominated
by the conference delegates as the Youth Ambassador to represent Pakistan’s youth in the Rio+20.
