Munawar Saeed Bhatti

Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) is organizing a reference to pay tributes to late Munawar Saeed Bhatti, a well-known former diplomat, who had died in Islamabad on 10th June 2015. He had served at various key positions in and outside the country and his last assignment was ambassador of Pakistan to Belgium and the European Commission. Earlier, he had served at UN, US, India, New Zealand, and many other places and earned a good repute for the country. His last achievement was GSP+ agreement with the European Union wherein he played a pivotal role to finish the job besides his severe illness. His services for the country will be long remembered.

After his retirement, Mr Bhatti had joined SDPI as an advisor where he had been planning to write a book on his lifetime experiences and understanding of crucial issues. Alas, death crossed his way and took him far away from the mundane realities depriving all of us from the opportunity to learn from an enlightened human being.

SDPI cordially invites you to assign correspondent for coverage of the event from the life and personality of the late career diplomat, who was well versed in literature, had deep insight on international politics, and had enjoyed strong relations with national and international institutions and think tanks, like SDPI.
