A four days
Advanced-Level Training was organized for twenty five youth representatives,
selected from the primary workshop. This training was structured to equip youth
with skills which can help them to identify and deal with issues of a local
nature. The training included a panel discussion in which youth were provided
with a chance to have dialogue and brainstorming with the eminent people from
government and state institutions.
The training addressed
the following topics:
Peacebuilding as a process and development
of initiatives which would effectively bring people together from across
dividing lines and addressed root causes of conflict in long-term, multi-step
processes.
The training imparted basic skills of
facilitation of dialogue and mediation of disputes to participants.
Built the skills of
youth leaders to engage their traditional adversaries in dialogue and potential
cooperation. In particular, there was a focus on how youth can work with local
government officials and decision makers.
