About the Speaker:
Dr. Anila Dolatzai is an anthropologist who has recently completed her doctoral studies from John Hopkins University in the field of medical anthropology. She is currently visiting Pakistan in connection with her post-doctoral academic work on “War and what remains: Everyday life in contemporary Afghanistan.” She is also working on her new anthropological research project on “heroin users in Pakistan and Afghanistan”. In this context, she is writing an academic book based on more than four years of her anthropological research in Kabul, Afghanistan, which is specifically focused on widowhood and care.
