Research Associate
Ms Khansa Naeem is an experienced researcher serving as Research Associate at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). Her research interests include climate change, climate induced migration, rural livelihoods, changing gender roles, labour migration and health and climate change . Some of her notable projects include "Trends and Impact of Climate Change on Migration in Pakistan," where she particularly focused on the gender and youth dimensions, and "Research on South Asian Women on Move: Labour Trends and Avenue for Inter-Regional Cooperation." Her studies on livelihood and women-related concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic focused on improving the well-being of underserved populations. Furthermore, her research on "Climate-Induced Displacement and Migration in Pakistan" sheds light on the devastating consequences of climate change, such as floods, droughts, and unemployment, particularly affecting vulnerable groups like women, the elderly, and young girls.
She has recently won research award to conduct research on Loss and Damage by International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), where she will be focusing on gender, health and livelihood nexus. She has previously served as a Visiting Lecturer at PMAS Arid Agriculture University from 2019 to 2022, where she taught a range of courses, including Labour Economics, Agriculture Economics, Macro Economics, Managerial Economics, and International
