The overarching theme of this year’s Conference is Sustainable Development in the Times of COVID-19. Read more…       FOOD SECIRITY DASHBOARD: On 4th Nov, SDPI has shared the first prototype of Food Security Dashboard with Dr Moeed Yousaf, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on  National Security and Economic Outreach in the presence of stakeholders, including Ministry of National Food Security and Research. Provincial and district authorities attended the event in person or through zoom. The dashboard will help the government monitor and regulate the supply chain of essential food commodities.

IUCPSS announces awards for 9 personalities, 3 organisations

In recognition of individual and collective contribution in the fields of social service, social sciences, arts and humanities, Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences Pakistan (IUCPSS) has announced awards for nine personalities and three organisations for the year 2016.
According to the spokesman of the consortium, these nominations have been made on recommendation of jury in order to acknowledge valuable contribution of social scientists and organisation for strengthening social sciences in Pakistan.
According to the details, Abdul Sattar Edhi has been nominated for Lifetime Recognition Award in social services, while Director Institute of Business Administration Karachi and Former Governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr. Ishrat Husain, Founder Council of Social Sciences Pakistan late Dr. Inayatullah, Chairperson Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nizamuddin, Vice Chancellor University of Turbat Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir, and former Vice Chancellor Kohat University Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak have been nominated for the award on dedicated individual contributions for promotion of social sciences, arts and humanities in Pakistan from all four provinces and federal area.
Recognising the contribution of foreign nationals and diplomats, Atle Hetland has been nominated for Dr. Hans Frey Award, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan Jononov Sherali and Dean of Faculty – Humanities and Social Sciences Professor of Behavioural Sciences – Karakoram Centre for Culture and Heritage Karakoram International University Gilgit Dr. Livia Holden would also be awarded Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities award 2016. While in the category of organisations, National Book Foundation Pakistan, American Institute of Pakistan Studies and Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) have been nominated for the award for undertaking various steps for promotion of social sciences in Pakistan.
Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences Chairman Dr. Nasser Ali Khan said that the consortium with its partner organisations and universities would continue its contribution for creating soft image of Pakistan. Source:
