Mushaal Mullick urges PM to formulate Kashmir policy
Mushaal Mullick, wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, has urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to formulate a proper policy on Kashmir, pursued throughout 365 days of year.
Speaking at a seminar titled “Kashmir: Towards a Sustainable Solution,” organized by Sustainable Development Policy Institute yesterday, Mushaal Mullick demanded that the dossier that Prime Minister presented at the UN, should be made public.
The current uprising in Kashmir is indigenous; the fact is accepted by the international community, as no one can import more than 150,000 people to Kashmir, from outside.
She said, her husband, Yasin Mallick was poisoned by the Indian security forces in captivity and his heart valves were replaced, so he need supportive medicine on every day basis, to keep these metallic valves functioning. Now, she said, the Indian forces kept him in solitary confinement, and his condition is deteriorating. ‘He can die any moment,’ she said.
It’s the 80th day of curfew, in the valley, children, women and men are starving, due to food shortage. She said Kashmir struggle is on the defining stage, as there is no fear left in the hearts of the people of Kashmir. Every single stone throw by a Kashmiri youth is challenging the writ of Indian state occupation, which is unprecedented, she added.
Earlier, Riaz Hussain Khokhar, former Secretary Foreign of Pakistan and High Commissioner to India, said, the human right situation in Indian Administered Kashmir is deplorable, the level of violence and the way Indian forces are treating Kashmiri people is unacceptable.
