The overarching theme of this year’s Conference is Sustainable Development in the Times of COVID-19. Read more…       FOOD SECIRITY DASHBOARD: On 4th Nov, SDPI has shared the first prototype of Food Security Dashboard with Dr Moeed Yousaf, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on  National Security and Economic Outreach in the presence of stakeholders, including Ministry of National Food Security and Research. Provincial and district authorities attended the event in person or through zoom. The dashboard will help the government monitor and regulate the supply chain of essential food commodities.

United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) and Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) would jointly organize National Consultation on Pakistan’s preparations for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD)/Rio+20″ on September 12.
A statement issued by the UNDP here said that UNCSD/ Rio+20 conference would be held on June, 2012 to promote renewed political commitment for better results.
Advisor on Climate Change and Development, Planning Commission, Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad, Co-Chair One UN, Environment/ Country Director UNDP, Toshihiro Tanaka, Executive Director, Sustainable Development Policy Institute, Dr Abid Q. Suleri, Country Director, World Bank Rachid Benmessaoud would address the workshop.
The Consultation, follows provincial consultations in Lahore and Karachi will engage stakeholder government, private sector, NGOs, think-tanks & civil society in assessing the progress towards sustainable development in Pakistan.
It will identify gaps and emerging challenges and give recommendations on how the UNCSD/Rio +20 Conference could promote renewed political commitment for better results.
The consultation will address two major themes like green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication and institutional framework for sustainable development at local national and international levels.
