PM constitutes 18-member EAC
Prime Minister, Imran Khan has constituted 18-member Economic Advisory Council (EAC) to get advice from top economists on the country’s economy. Most of the economists belong to anti-Ishaq Dar group who wrote articles and spoke against him at different public forums.
The EAC will comprises of: (i) Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, Dean & Director Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Member;(ii) Dr. Ashfaque Hassan Khan, Principal and Dean, School of Social Sciences & Humanities National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST), Member;(iii) Dr. Ijaz Nabi Professor of Economics, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Member;(iv) Dr. Abid Qaiyum Suleri, Executive Director, Sustainable Develo-pment Policy Institute (SDPI) , Member;(v) Dr. Asad Zaman, Vice Chancellor of the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Member;(vi) Dr. Naved Hamid, Professor of Economics at the Lahore School of Economics, Member;(vii) Syed Salim Raza, former Governor of State Bank of Pakistan, Member;(viii) Sakib Sherani, Economist, Member;(ix) Dr. Atif R. Mian, Princeton University (Depart-ment of Economics and Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy), Member;(x) Dr. Asim Ijaz Khawaja, Sumitomo – FASID Professor of International Finance and Development at the Harvard Kennedy School, Member and (xi) Dr. Imran Rasul, Professor of Economics, Department of Economics, University College, London, Member.
The official members of EAC will be ;(i) Minister for Finance, Revenue & Economic Affairs;(ii) Minister for Planning development and Reforms Division;(iii) Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission;(iv) Governor, State bank of Pakistan;(v) Adviser on Institutional Reforms;(vi) Adviser on Commerce and ;(vii) Secretary, Finance Division ( Secretary of EAC).
