The overarching theme of this year’s Conference is Sustainable Development in the Times of COVID-19. Read more…       FOOD SECIRITY DASHBOARD: On 4th Nov, SDPI has shared the first prototype of Food Security Dashboard with Dr Moeed Yousaf, the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on  National Security and Economic Outreach in the presence of stakeholders, including Ministry of National Food Security and Research. Provincial and district authorities attended the event in person or through zoom. The dashboard will help the government monitor and regulate the supply chain of essential food commodities.

The Sustainable Development Policy Institute, Pakistan (SDPI) organized a special gathering here today
in honor of Munno Bhai, renowned writer, poet, journalist and literary
critic, as a tribute for his valuable contributions to literature and
life-long contributions to print media. The session also included
narration of essays in praise of Munnu Bhai. The gathering was attended
by eminent writers and poets from Pakistan’ literary community,
including Agha Nasir, Professor Fateh Malik, Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan,
Ahmed Salim, Masood Ashar, and Afzal Khan. Speaking at the occasion,
Pervaiz Rasheed, Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage applauded Munnu Bhai’s literary efforts throughout Pakistan’s history.

The
panel applauded the work of Munnu Bhai, particularly in the context of
his life-long struggle for human rights and against dictatorship in
Pakistan. Speaking at the occasion, Abid Suleri, Executive Director,
SDPI, said that it is important to promote awareness on liberal arts and
literature in Pakistan and to honor literary figures like Munno Bhai.
Panelists also narrated some of the writings of Munno Bhai.
Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan praised Munnu Bhai’s work to promote progressive thought and tolerance in the society.
