With industrial growth giving birth to rise in environmental pollution in Pakistan, water contamination has become a growing matter of concern in metropolitan cities such as Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Due to the lack of sustainable recycling mechanisms, environmental experts have identified plastic pollution as one of the main factors contributing to the degradation of water quality in Pakistan. Looking at the Rawal Lake in Islamabad, this research paper aims to gather insights to assess the impact of plastic and micro-plastic pollution on aquatic life and human health for the citizens of Islamabad, Pakistan.
