Introduction
This study considers post-conflict livelihood recovery in Nepal and Pakistan with a focus on the role of international labour migration. It contributes to
the research of the Secure Livelihoods Research Consortium (SLRC), which is concerned with, amongst other things, trying to better understand processes
of livelihood recovery following a conflict or crisis. The Consortium is doing this in a number of ways and by using multiple research methods, one of which is an original panel survey designed to generate longitudinal data from five countries on people’s livelihoods,
their access to services, and their relationships with governance actors. This particular study builds on this cross-country survey, the first wave of which was implemented in 2012.
