Prof. Ahsan Iqbal is Federal Minister for
Planning, Development & Special Initiatives for the Government of Pakistan.
With a strong academic background, he previously served as a Professor of
Management at M.A. Jinnah University in Islamabad. Known for his contributions
to strategic development and economic planning, Prof. Iqbal brings both
academic insight and practical experience to his role in advancing Pakistan’s
growth and development initiatives. He has made significant contributions to
Pakistan’s development discourse through his writings and policy frameworks. He
authored ‘Inclusive and Sustainable Development: An Analytical Basis and
Policy Framework,’ which outlines strategies for achieving sustainable
growth in Pakistan. He also played a pivotal role in formulating Pakistan’s ‘Vision
2025’, a comprehensive long-term development plan aimed at transforming
Pakistan into an upper-middle-income country by 2025.
