Dr Amina Maharjan is Senior Intervention Manager – Foresight at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Nepal, and a Senior Livelihood and Migration Specialist. She has led ICIMOD's work on human mobility and migration since 2015 and leads its work on foresight and policy scenarios for adaptation in mountain economies. Her research covers migration, sustainable development and climate adaptation in the Hindu Kush Himalaya, with a focus on gender equity, social inclusion and anticipatory planning. She contributed to the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and co-edited the HI-WISE report on cryosphere change. She holds a PhD in Agriculture from the University of Giessen, Germany.
