Dr Udaya Namalgama works with Sri Lanka’s Consumer Affairs Authority, where his responsibilities have included district-level trade and consumer market administration. His research interests centre on international trade, trade agreements and trade-related policy, and he has professional experience in agricultural research and development. He previously worked with Sri Lanka’s Coconut Development Authority, and brings a regional regulatory perspective to discussions of sustainable markets and secondary textile value chains.
