Mr Ahmad Kamal is a senior water resources engineer and former Chairman of the Federal Flood Commission. He has also served as Chief Engineering Adviser to the Ministry of Water Resources, Member (Disaster Risk Reduction) at the National Disaster Management Authority and Chairman of the Pakistan National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage, and has held additional charge as a Member of the Indus River System Authority. He contributed to drafting Pakistan’s National Water Policy and to formulating the Fourth National Flood Protection Plan. With more than 30 years of experience, his expertise covers water resources management, flood control and forecasting, and disaster risk reduction.
