Mr Henning Effner

Mr Henning Effner is currently serving as Acting Country Director of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Pakistan. He has extensive experience in international development cooperation, democratic governance, and political and socio-economic affairs across Asia. During his career with FES, he has headed its offices in Thailand, Pakistan, and Malaysia/Myanmar, and has also worked in Indonesia. His work has covered democratic development, regional affairs, economic and social transformation, and international cooperation. He studied Political Science, Economics, and Public Law in Freiburg, Córdoba (Argentina), and Hamburg, and completed the postgraduate programme at the German Development Institute (DIE).
