Mr Mahmood Tufail is an economic policy strategist and development expert with over 25 years of public sector experience, driving Pakistan’s institutional modernisation and investment facilitation agenda. He currently serves as the Director General of Regulatory Reforms & Digital Economy at the Board of Investment (BOI), where he spearheads the national deregulation framework. He has previously held key administrative positions within the Planning Commission, the Establishment Division, and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture & Livestock, alongside advisory tenures with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). At the forefront of the Pakistan Regulatory Modernization Initiative (PRMI), he leads the integration of provincial and federal regulators into unified single window digital portals to minimise administrative red tape. His strategic oversight steers major cross-cutting reform cycles, including high-level collaboration with the World Bank’s B-READY initiative.
