Since 2019, H.E. Bernhard Schlagheck has been the German Ambassador in Pakistan. He has studied Law and Economics; and has experience of working as a German diplomat in Kuwait, Moscow, Rome and Abuja. He also had different positions in the Federal Foreign Office of Germany. H.E Schlagheck also served Germany at the different international organisations like as the UN Chief of Staff of UN Security Council Negotiating Team on Status of Kosovo, in Vienna in 2006.

Ambassador Schlagheck has been very interculturally active at the different places that he has worked as a diplomat. His interest in literature brought him to learn eminent Pakistani writers such as Allama Mohammad Iqbal, Josh Malihabadi, Habib Jalib, Fahmida Riaz, Hasina Gul and many more.
