Mr Haroon Sharif served as the Minister of State and Chairman Board of Investment (2018-19), Government of Pakistan. The country’s ranking on the Ease of Doing Business Index improved by 28 places under his leadership. He has also been Pakistan’s Lead Representative for Industrial Cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). 

Mr Sharif is a well-known global expert of economic policy, international development, economic diplomacy and financial markets. He has also served as Regional Advisor to the World Bank Group for promoting economic cooperation in South and Central Asia. Mr Sharif holds a postgraduate degree from the London School of Economics, UK. He has delivered keynote lectures at global forums, is well published and won several prestigious fellowships and awards.
