Ms Asma Shirazi is a senior journalist and anchorperson and specialises in parliamentary affairs. She began her career at PTV in 2000 and later joined GEO News, ARY, SAMAA TV, Dawn News, Aaj News and then Hum News. Known for her fearless reporting, she became Pakistan’s first female war correspondent, covering the 2006 Lebanon-Israel conflict. She received the Peter Mackler Award for Courage and Ethical Journalism in 2014. A columnist for BBC Urdu, she has a postgraduate degree in Political Science from the University of the Punjab, Lahore
