- From the case study of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan, it has been learnt that contingency planning, data availability, and cooperation at both the provincial and federal levels play a crucial role in making any Adaptive Social Protection Programme efficient.
- Pakistan’s Social Protection Programme framework is conventional – poverty-based as opposed to a risk-based framework adopted globally. Therefore, the government needs to revamp its social protection initiatives and make them more shock and finance inclusive.
- Pakistan’s social protection projects are largely dependent on funding which makes them unsustainable. Therefore, the government needs to explore financing avenues to make the programme sustainable and not funding-oriented.
