Policy Recommendations

Opening Plenary: 25th SDC & 6th SDGF
  • South-West and South Asia must join hands for regional cooperation and development to combat the challenges they are facing in achieving the SDGs, including inclusivity of marginalised and vulnerable communities, tackling poverty, hunger, and disease.
  • The flashfloods of 2022 have pushed back Pakistan’s progress on the SDGs. To ensure quick and sustainable recovery from the floods, emphasis should be laid on building resilient communities and infrastructural transformation.
  • With the 3Cs - COVID, Conflict, and Climate - worsening an already deteriorating economy, regional and subregional connectivity, cooperation through transportation, digitalisation, and energy incentivisation are fundamental for achieving the 2030 Vision of the SDGs.
  • Need-based solutions must be devised by relevant stakeholders such as governments, civil societies, and the private sector for financing the SDGs.
