Dr Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Board and Caretaker Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) as well as Director of the Food Security Department at the Ministry of Municipality & Environment, State of Qatar. His extensive career has spanned various roles in environmental research and management.
From 1997 to 1999, he began as an Environmental Researcher at the Environmental Studies Section of The Supreme Council for the Environment & Natural Reserves in Doha, Qatar. He then progressed to the position of Director of the Central Environmental Laboratory at the same council from 2002 to 2005. Between 2007 and 2009, Dr Al-Marri served as the General Manager of National Environmental Services & Technologies. His subsequent roles included Director of the Biotechnology Centre at the Ministry of Environment from 2009 to 2012; Technical Advisor for Food Security at the Ministry of Environment from 2012 to 2014; and Director of the Agricultural Research Department at the Ministry of Municipality & Environment from 2014 to 2018.
Dr Al-Marri’s academic qualifications include a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Qatar, an MSc in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida, USA, and a PhD in Agricultural & Environmental Sciences from the University of Sousse, Tunisia.
