These following recommendations are important to integrate gender considerations deeply and systematically into Pakistan’s economic and developmental policies, ensuring gender parity and resilience in the face of disasters and economic challenges:
o Prioritise exploring new revenue streams and addressing gaps in the economy, with a specific focus on incorporating gender considerations to strengthen macroeconomic stability and foster sustainable, inclusive growth in Pakistan.
o Implement departmental alignment, digitalisatiaon, and institutional reforms to contribute significantly toward achieving these goals, ensuring these reforms are inclusive and gender-sensitive.
o Ensure the integration of gender considerations into commerce, investment, and taxation policies. This integration is vital for enhancing overall economic conditions and promoting gender equity and financial inclusion of women.
o Adopt anticipatory actions through tools such as liquidity management, risk management, future investment, institutionalised consultation, international cooperation, and programme impact evaluation, all while incorporating a gender lens.
o Develop governance structures and infrastructure that are responsive to gender needs. This includes creating a gender data repository and promoting inclusive green finance as part of a comprehensive approach.
o Centre the discourse around social and cultural factors that impact gender equality, acknowledging their significance in shaping policies and practices.
o Develop robust support systems that aid in recovering dignity, self-assurance, necessary skills, and physical assistance, with a focus on gender-specific needs.
o Institutionalise the evaluation of development projects by incorporating a gender perspective into public investment considerations, ensuring gender-responsive budgeting and investment.
