Aftab Alam Khan is the Chief Executive Officer of Resilient Future International. He has over 15 years of professional experience in climate change and social development, working with international organizations across 35 countries. His previous engagements include assignments with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, ActionAid (United Kingdom and United States of America), Oxfam (United States of America), British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) World, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), The Asia Foundation, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and several universities in Pakistan and abroad. He has conducted training for approximately 10,000 participants from Asia and Africa, including staff of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the Ministry of Climate Change, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Secours Islamique France (SIF), ActionAid International, Tearfund, the German Red Cross, the Norwegian Red Cross, Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Human Appeal, Muslim Hands, Akhuwat, and Alkhidmat Foundation. He has also delivered training sessions for government officials, journalists, and academics on climate justice and social development.
Mr Khan has also led multi-country studies examining the links between climate change and sectors such as food security, agriculture, health, livelihoods, and education. His research-based documentary on Loss and Damage has contributed to international discussions on the establishment of the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage. He is a Chevening Scholar and holds a degree from the University of Wales, Swansea.
