3rd Sustainability Investment Expo (SIE) “Collaborations for a Climate Smart Future”
SIE’s Concept Note: The climate crisis is no longer a distant threat rather it is a present reality for millions in Pakistan and across the world. The climate change has revealed systemic vulnerabilities from unprecedented floods and heatwaves to agricultural disruption and economic instability. Despite these challenges lies a critical opportunity: to collaborate across sectors, borders, and disciplines for co-creating a climate-smart future that is inclusive, equitable, and resilient. The 3rd Sustainability Investment Expo (SIE), under the theme “Collaborations for a Climate-Smart Future”, is intended to serve as a call to action for collective engagement. Furthermore, it acknowledges that no single entity government, private sector, civil society, or academia can address the climate crisis in isolation. Therefore, the way forward must be shaped by partnerships rooted in shared responsibility, innovation, and investment. This year’s Expo will focus on unlocking and enabling multi-stakeholder collaborations that can enhance the transition towards low-carbon development, green industrialization and climate-resilient communities. Also, It aims to provide a practical space for solution providers and problem solvers to join hands for facilitating the flow of finance, knowledge and technology in support of sustainability outcomes. As global governance becomes more fragmented and climate finance remains contested, especially in developing countries, local and regional partnerships have emerged as powerful tools for action, the emphasis on collaboration is intentional and timely. Collaboration remains the foundation of lasting impact, whether it’s through community-driven circular economy initiatives, corporate social responsibility aligned with the SDGs, or regional cooperation on water security and renewable energy. The SIE also aligns with the broader vision of SDPI’s 28th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC) themed “Sustainable Development in the Emerging World Dis|Order”. While the SDC addresses the complexities of the shifting global order and the need for renewed development frameworks via policy dialogues and consultations, the SIE aims to zoom into the practical and tangible creating spaces for real-time collaboration, cross-pollination of ideas, and mobilization of resources to turn sustainability from policy to practice. In this context, the SIE not only showcases climate-smart solutions but also builds a collaborative ecosystem — bringing together diverse actors who are often siloed — to identify synergies, explore co-investment opportunities, and forge long-term partnerships. Whether it's connecting a start-up with an investor, a local NGO with a multinational sustainability platform, or a government department with cutting-edge technology providers, the SIE will serve as a living marketplace of climate solutions. By centring “collaborations” as both theme and method, the 3rd SIE reinforces SDPI’s role as a catalyst for integrated development, capacity building, and actionable dialogue. It is not just an exhibition — it is a movement toward a co-owned, co-financed, and co-implemented climate-resilient future. The Expo will feature the Sustainability Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions by:
These awards aim to inspire and amplify success stories that can be replicated and scaled across the region. Capacity Building Hubs: Specially designed Capacity Building Hubs will run throughout the Expo, offering:
