Ahmed Kamal is the Chief Engineering Adviser and former Chairman of the Federal Flood Commission (FFC) under the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of Pakistan. He has extensive professional experience in water resources management, flood control planning and management, disaster risk reduction (DRR), flood forecasting and warning systems, and disaster risk insurance. Mr Kamal has been involved in the implementation of National Flood Protection Plans II and III and Flood Protection Sector Projects I and II. He is a Member of the Pakistan National Committee on the International Hydrological Programme (IHP) and serves on the Board of Directors of the Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR). He previously served as Member (Disaster Risk Reduction) at the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
