Ahsan Javed is currently serving as a Research Fellow (Renewable Energy) at the SAARC Energy Centre, Islamabad. Previously, he worked as Manager (Engineering) at the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) and as Technical Coordinator at the Ministry of Climate Change, Government of Pakistan.
He has extensive experience in implementing off-grid solar PV and wind energy projects in rural areas of Pakistan, and has contributed to initiatives focused on low-emission development strategies, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), climate change mitigation, and the formulation of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs).
Mr Javed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, and a Postgraduate degree in Renewable Energy from Carl von Ossietzky University, Oldenburg, Germany.
