
Dr Abid Hussain is a Senior Economist at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Nepal, leading its Action Area on Economies. With 20 years of research and policy experience in food systems, food security, poverty, and climate adaptation, he is a key contributor to global scientific assessments. Dr Hussain is a Lead Author for the IPCC’s 7th Assessment and the IPBES Nexus Assessment on interactions between biodiversity, water, food, health and climate. He is also one of 78 global experts refining and developing indicators under UNFCCC convened UAE-Belém work programme on ‘Global Goals on Adaptation.’ He holds a PhD in Development Economics from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
