Prof. Dr Huma Baqai is the Rector of the Millennium Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship (MiTE) in Karachi, Pakistan. She previously served as Associate Professor of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts and as Associate Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, at IBA Karachi. With over two decades of experience in academia, media, and policy analysis, Dr Baqai is a renowned international relations expert and political analyst, frequently appearing on national and international media platforms.
She is the co-editor of two books — ‘Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations: Pitfalls and Way Forward’ (2021) and ‘Making Sense of Post COVID-19 Politics’ (2020) — and has authored over 29 research papers in reputed journals. A prolific columnist, she has contributed more than 100 articles to leading newspapers and magazines, including The Express Tribune, Business Recorder, Hilal Magazine, and Pakistan Observer. Dr Baqai also serves as Vice Chairperson of the Karachi Council for Foreign Relations (KCFR) and sits on the boards of several educational and non-profit organisations. A certified Corporate Trainer from the International Academy for Leadership, Germany, she is actively engaged in Track-II diplomacy between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
