Professor Kazuhiko Takeuchi is President of the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and a sustainability science pioneer. He has served as Vice Rector of the United Nations University (UNU) and Assistant Secretary-General at the United Nations (UN), and holds professorships at the University of Tokyo, specialising in landscape ecology, environmental policy, and the integration of science with societal action.
