Sabnam Shivakoti is a Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD), Government of Nepal. She previously served as the Spokesperson of the Ministry. With over 25 years of experience in government service, she has worked extensively in the areas of food and nutrition security, climate change, agribusiness, and agricultural trade.
In her current role, she oversees agricultural trade, agribusiness development, disaster management, and agricultural insurance. Ms Shivakoti is a member of several boards, councils, and steering committees, and has represented Nepal as a delegate in numerous bilateral and multilateral trade meetings. She also represents Asia in the Bureau of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) under the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
