Shubhuti Kiran Ghimire

Shubhuti Kiran Ghimire currently serves as an Integrated Water Resource Management Analyst at International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), Nepal, where she supports action research, regional coordination, and policy-relevant studies in the Hindu Kush Himalaya region. She is an environmental engineer with a strong background in integrated water resource management, river basin assessment, and climate-resilient development. With over ten years of experience, she has contributed to regional and national initiatives focused on sustainable infrastructure, environmental safeguards, and climate change adaptation. Earlier, she has worked with leading organisations such as Switch Asia, CREASION and Frost & Sullivan. In close collaboration with the School of Environmental Science and Management (SchEMS), affiliated with Pokhara University, she has also contributed to curriculum development and capacity-building efforts for environmental and climate education; and played a strategic role in hydropower planning and river basin development across Nepal, with a focus on integrating environmental and social safeguards into infrastructure development. Ms Ghimire holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology.
