Program/Project Rational and Background

The objective of this project is to support the Government of Pakistan in the process of developing a digital National State of Environment Report (NSoER). The NSoER process aims to: (1) provide high-quality assessment of the state of and impact trends for the environment; (2) build capacity of relevant stakeholders including government, academia, NGOs, and the UN Country Team in managing, reporting and utilizing environmental information; (3) improve public accessibility of environmental data and raise public awareness including youth on the state of the environment by encouraging their participation and contributions; and (4) support environmental decision-making to address environmental challenges and related impacts on human well-being in Pakistan.
