Dr Babar Shahbaz

Dr Babar Shahbaz earned his PhD degree from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and post-doctorate from Zurich University, Switzerland and Korea Development Institute, South Korea. Currently, he is the Chairperson of Outreach Program at the Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Food Security and Agriculture, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He is also the Tenure Track Associate Professor at the same university.  His specialized fields include: rural development and livelihoods, agricultural extension, food security and natural resource management. Dr Shahbaz possesses more than 18 years of experience in planning, management and co-ordination of inter- and trans-disciplinary research projects from various donor agencies. He has worked as senior researcher for Swiss National Centre for Competence in Research (NCCR North-South). He is also engaged with ODI led “Secure Livelihoods Research Consortium”.  He is a prolific writer and has published more than 50 research papers in renowned peer reviewed journals on rural livelihoods, community forestry and rural development. He has authored three books and several policy briefs, newspaper articles, etc.& nbsp;
