Dr. Mohsen Gul is a sustainability leader and systems curator with over 15 years of experience, dedicated to building inclusive economies and advancing climate action through sustainable finance and innovation. As Senior Researcher at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), he leads policy research and advocacy at the climate–nature–people nexus, shaping frameworks that connect global ambition with local realities.
With extensive experience across multilateral organisations, research institutions, and international platforms, Dr. Gul has consistently championed sustainable finance, social inclusion, and systems innovation. At the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), he led research on international financial architecture for climate and nature investments, and at UNDP Asia–Pacific he steered regional policy on just transition, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and green jobs. A recognised expert on climate and nature finance, AI and climate tech, and systems policy innovation, he has influenced both global negotiations and local practice across various geographies, including Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America, and LDCs/SIDS.
