Internal Auditor
Ijlal Ashraf is a governance, compliance, and financial management specialist with over 18 years of professional experience across internal audit, risk management, organizational policy development, regulatory compliance, and donor-funded program oversight. He holds advanced qualifications including MS (Finance), MA Political Science, LLB, CPA (Pakistan), Certified Financial Consultant (Canada), PRINCE2® Project Management Certification, CA Foundation, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants.
At SDPI, he leads the Internal Audit and Compliance function, where he has designed and implemented comprehensive institutional frameworks on anti-corruption, safeguarding, whistleblowing, internal controls (COSO), risk management (ISO 31000), gender harassment prevention, procurement governance, data protection, and financial integrity. He advises senior management and the Board on compliance, organizational accountability, and risk mitigation, while conducting audits, due diligence reviews, investigations, and capacity-strengthening of operational and program teams.
Ijlal Ashraf has extensive experience training government, development, and corporate sector professionals in financial management, taxation, donor compliance, internal controls, project financial planning, QuickBooks automation, and advanced MS Excel/financial modelling. His work spans multiple large-scale national and international initiatives.
He currently serves as Internal Auditor at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Islamabad, contributing to institutional strengthening, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making.
