Mr Muhammad Saleem Khilji is a veteran media and communications professional with over 35 years of experience spanning journalism, development sector, and research publications.

He is currently serving as the Senior Editor (Research Publications) at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), where he oversees the editorial review of high-impact research papers on critical global and regional issues, including climate change, economic and social development, clean energy, sustainable livelihoods, and peace & conflict. Mr Khilji has held senior editorial roles at Pakistan’s premier English dailies, including DAWN, Daily Times, and The Nation. His extensive broadcast and international media experience includes working with NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) as Reporter and serving as Director News and Current Affairs for Rohi TV.

In the development sector, he has driven strategic advocacy as a Media and Communication Consultant for the UNDP-funded organization, namely Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment (DTCE). An expert in capacity building, Mr. Khilji has led numerous institutional trainings on research writing and contributed significantly to a specialized research programme on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) in Pakistan.

In 1988, he did his MA in English Literature from Islamia University Bahawalpur, where he began his career as a Lecturer.
