Muhammad Shaban is a Certified Accountant and Certified Director (ICAP) with over 21 years of experience in financial management, auditing, and donor compliance within Pakistan’s development sector. He serves as the Director of Finance at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), where he oversees financial planning, budgeting, audits, and donor-funded project management. Shaban holds an MBA in Finance, an MA in Economics, and ICMAP Stage IV qualifications, along with certification as a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA). Over his career, he has managed more than 500 projects valued at over PKR 4 billion, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, including FBR, EAD, and PCP requirements. He has also led capacity-building workshops on financial management, internal controls, and taxation for organizations such as UNDP, USAID, FCDO, GIZ, and Oxfam.
