Research Associate
Muhammad Umer is an electrical engineer with a background in power systems, data science, and competitive sectoral studies. He completed his Master’s in Electrical (Power) Engineering at the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST). Before joining SDPI, he worked as a Technical Associate at the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA-G), where he applied his expertise in PLEXOS to develop data-driven energy solutions and policy recommendations. He contributed to electricity cost optimization, fuel cost forecasting, and potential cross-border electricity trade analysis. His experience also includes sectoral analysis during his tenure at the Engineering Development Board (EDB), where he conducted trade studies across various industries. His work demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing sustainable energy practices and informed policymaking in the power and energy sectors.
