Shakeb Elahi – Senior Advisor at SDPI - Pakistan focused on ESG initiative of SDPI holds a Degree in Geology. He has been in commercial brokerage, trade and shipping since 1981 initially in Karachi Pakistan and then from 2001 in Dubai UAE. Over years he has traded in various agricultural, energy and pharmaceutical commodities including chemicals, pharmaceutical raw and packaging materials, oilseeds, fertilizers, raw and white sugar, milling wheat, feed corn, fertilizers, iron-ore, coal,fuel ethanol and gasoline. He pioneered import of blister packaging of medicines to the pharma industry; import of soybeans in 1996 from USA;  sun-seeds from Ukraine in 1997; canola from Australia in 1998 and export of wheat from Pakistan in 2000.He played an active role on public sector import of soybeans, soy-oil and soymeal under Section 416 program from USA. This accelerated the import of soybeans into Pakistan. He also set up a trade finance fund in UAE and store and sale operations in China and Iran to expand the trade 2007-2010. He has also worked in sales of metal cutting machine tools and auxiliaries from USA,UK and Switzerland to the Oil & Gas Service, Aviation, Automotive and Surgical Industry . has also worked as a Consultant for the U.S. Grains Council in 1999-2000 for Pakistan and then again in 2017-2019 for Pakistan UAE and Oman and for US Soybean Export Council 2023-2024. His current role with SDPI involves is to advise on practical implementation of is ESG initiatives.
